How to make your resume more attractive? The answer to this question can be: less is more. These three words summarize the information you need to fill your resume – short, precise, fresh. It should be just enough to attract the employer’s attention.
For a large amount of irrelevant data, the experience and qualifications of the applicant may be lost. Recruiters are very annoyed when they need to be fished out of the “water” text. Here are a few things you can remove to make your resume more attractive.

include it as their first item. A perfect example is ‘The goal is to get a position in a dynamically developing company, where I can apply my experience.’ If you send a resume, then employers already understand your desire – you want to get a job. A blurry goal will tell you nothing. It is better to replace this paragraph with the phrase “professional profile” and indicate in it the area in which you specialize.
If you are applying for several positions at once, for example, journalist, editor, content manager, then it is better to write a resume separately for each vacancy. The main thing is to clearly state the information and not use vague phrases. It makes sense to describe the goal when you radically change your career or just start working. It is necessary to clearly explain why you are changing your profession or choose this particular area.
Personal Data
We are talking about marital status, number of children, religion, and postal address. If the employer needs such information, he will personally ask about it at the interview. Although today this practice is becoming obsolete, it is still worth preparing how to answer uncomfortable questions from a recruiter.
This section must be filled with very specific information:
- Date of Birth;
- the city in which the applicant lives;
- contact number;
- email address.
Surname, name, patronymic should be placed in the title. But it is better not to indicate the gender because the applicant’s name explains to the recruiter whose resume is in front of him: men or women.
Frivolous Email
If you do not want to part with your old email, for example, [email protected] or [email protected], do not part with it. But use only for personal correspondence. Frivolous email spoils your image. To search for a job, create a mailbox with a laconic name, for example, [email protected]. And include only it in the resume.
