Freedoms Foundation 2008
The Freedom’s Foundation Spirit of America Youth Conference is a fun
educational opportunity for girls in grades 10-12. Our council
sends several girls each year, and financial assistance is available.

Girl Scout Silver Award
Girls earn the Silver Award by following the guidelines in Girl Scout
Silver Award: Go For It! Check out the
Silver Award section of GSUSA's website. There are tips, Q&A, Do’s
and Don’t’s and project ideas to get you thinking.
Girls work with a troop volunteer to complete the requirements and determine the project concept. At this point, a girl may get an advisor who will enrich the project by bringing subject expertise. These adults support the girl through the project.
When the project is done, the girl must complete and submit the Final Report on the project to the Teen Program Manager at the Service Center. The adults who worked with the girl verify the project’s completion and grant the award. When the council is notified, the girl is put on the invitation list for the next Young Women of Distinction celebration.
All Troop Programs Open to Individuals
... all you have to do is register by the
deadline, and indicate that you will be coming on your own. You will
be paired with a troop for the day, so there is adequate adult supervision
and a group of friends with whom to enjoy the event.
