The Rainbow Ribbon is
awarded to troops that create and execute an
original multi-troop program that celebrates
diversity. The troop receives the ribbon for
its flag, and the girls each receive a certificate. Some popular topics are cultural identity, cultural awareness, stereotyping, gender bias, bullying, age discrimination and ethnic celebration, but your troop is free to come up with its own. The more invested a girl is in a project the more powerful her experience will be, so make it girl-driven, girl-planned and girl-executed! Girls and adults work together throughout. To earn the Rainbow
Ribbon a troop creates and carries out a project
that:
After completing the
project, you will need to submit copies of the
Action Plan, the subject explanation, the press
release and girl and leader evaluations to the
Community Ties Program Manager to receive a Rainbow
Ribbon to hang on your troop flag. Girls will
receive certificates if you email their names
(please check spelling) with the items listed above.
