Memorial Day Parade  Troops interested in creating, carrying and presenting wreaths along the parade route contact: rodoherty@comcast.net
This parade is a solemn occasion, honoring all the men and women who died while serving our country.  Girl Scout uniform is required, at a minimum: vest, sash, or smock; no jeans.  Please discuss with your girls and try to look like a troop.  For example, all wear white shirt and dark pants/shorts.  Bring a water bottle and light hydrating snack to munch on while the parade route stops at the various cemeteries.  Have an adult pull a wagon on the side to carry troop supplies, including first aide kit and girl emergency information.  Have the appropriate girl: adult ratio.  Do not throw candy to the crowd.  Carry the American flag, which is always to the right and one step ahead of any other flag.  Have a meeting place predetermined so that the parents can retrieve their girls from you at the end of the parade route.  The town common is quite large, so select a very specific location.  Dress for the weather.  The parade is rarely cancelled so plan for rain or heat, hopefully no snow.

Town-wide Bridging Ceremony   Individualized bridging certificates will be prepared and presented to the girls at the ceremony.  One adult per troop is required to be present.  The event is free.  Troops attending will be requested to bring decorations.  Contact roni.girlscouts@comcast.net to register or for more information.
