All girls are welcome and will benefit from attending our camps. Girls who are not members of Girl Scouts when they sign up for camp pay $25 in addition to the fee and become registered members.

Who goes to Girl Scout camp?
Our summer programs are open to all girls of appropriate age, regardless of race, nationality, religious affiliation, sexual orientation and disability. We welcome girls of all physical and mental abilities, and every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for special needs. What consideration is given to health and safety?
Health and safety are our top priorities. Our programs are conducted according to the high standards of Girl Scouts of the USA, state laws and local requirements. Camps Wind-in-the-Pines and Edith Read are accredited by the American Camp Association, which reviews their operations thoroughly, from staff qualifications and training to emergency management, to ensure that they meet over 300 standards.

How do I get to and from camp?
Bus service is provided for all day camps except MV, at no additional charge. See camp listings for routes. Girls may be dropped off and picked up at camp with convenience hours added to the schedule to help parents who work outside of the home (all locations except MV).

What are the bathroom facilities like?
Campers use indoor bathrooms with flush toilets and running water.

Do I get a discount if I volunteer at day camp?
When you volunteer at day camp the week your children go, your first child goes free and you pay just $25 per child, per week for your other campers and $2 per day for your sons and daughters age 5 and younger. Free bus service is available to you. For more info about required training dates and other details, call 508 923 0800 x18 or email lsouza@gscsm.org.

How can I volunteer at day camp if I have other children?
Your sons and daughters up to age 5 will enjoy a special unit for tag-alongs for $2 per day, per child, and your sons aged 6-12 can enjoy a program in our special boys’ unit at a reduced rate. Boys and toddlers have a great time with games, sports and activities appropriate to their ages.

How is the staff selected?
Experience, skills, certifications, care, responsibility and character are foremost qualifications in our staff. The council does criminal background and reference checks. Day camp is run by a Camp Director and is facilitated by volunteers. Day camp staff receive training as required by state regulation.
